The Buffalo Checkbook Cover is handmade from American Bison hide in our leather workshop. Slide your checkbook in and write checks in style. This isn’t one of those cheap plastic covers that typically come with a checkbook. These are made from real full grain leather because it’s the strongest. We’ve been making this time-tested, durable leather checkbook cover for decades; and with each batch, we fine-tune our leather tanning recipe. This leather checkbook cover is made in USA. We strive to get 100% USA raised Bison and we tan the leather in USA tanneries. Then we bring the leather to our workshop and handpick, cut and sew the this leather into high quality leather goods that are built to last.

I normally don’t write reviews, however I feel compelled to get the word out about the quality and craftsmanship from this company. I have been looking for a replacement checkbook cover for some time. I’m tired of the cheap plastic or faux leather that is usually found. Even the ones at a local western store are made in China. Do you make checkbook covers in natural color? Do you engrave initials?

Hi Bud, Thanks for the positive rating! The colors we use for our leather goods are brown, black and russet. Brown is as close to the natural color as we get. In the past, we’ve stamped initials into checkbooks, but we currently don’t. We might in the future, and if we do, you’ll find an option to customize your leather checkbook by add initials to it on the page.

I bought this to replace an older leather checkbook cover that was worn out. Originally I was concerned that the cover would be too thick but once I received it I found it to be just fine. I just purchased my third Buffalo Billfold Checkbook Cover. It is not that the others have worn beyond use. They are still in perfect condition. These things wear forever.
