We first came across Opinel knives when we were traveling in France while looking for a small knife to take with us on picnics. We decided to try out an Opinel Carbon Steel folding knife and were blown away by sharp and light weight it was. The blade is incredibly sharp because it’s made with Carbon Steel. Right then we knew we needed to make a leather knife case for it. We handcrafted this case as soon as we got home and it fits like a glove. We handcraft this Opinel knife case at our workshop in Worthington, MN. We handcraft our leather goods personally because we want to ensure that everything that leaves the Buffalo Billfold Company holds up to our exacting standards. This Opinel knife case is made in USA and built to last.

Full Grain Leather

Our Opinel knife case is made with full grain leather because it’s the strongest you can get. This type of leather retains its most dense grain fibers and natural markings, while “top grain leather” has had this dense fiber structure sanded off. This type of leather will last longer than other types of leather. Your leather knife case it will develop an amazing patina as you use it.

Shipping & Delivery

We ship fast via USPS and have a variety of quick shipping options to chose from. As holidays get close, we'll ship in a way to try and get it to you on time regardless of what type of shipping you choose! We'll get it to the USPS as fast as possible, but once it's in their hands, it's out of our control! Order early to avoid disappointment.

Our leather goods are all handmade by the leathersmiths at our workshop. If you purchase an item on backorder, it will typically take between 1-6 weeks before we've finished making it for you depending on our backlog. If it will be towards the longer end of that range, we will contact you and you can choose to continue with your order or cancel it.
